Twitter vs Plurk

Filed Under (Uncategorized) by wclhendrickson on 15-10-2009

I have been on Twitter for about 2 months now, and do not see any real value to using it.  Maybe I just haven’t found anyone to connect with who can improve or impact the way I teach. However, personally I do enjoy Plurk.com.  It still does not do anything for me professionally, but I do like the way it is set up. Just my opinion.

I felt that same way when I started to use these tools-give it some time. On Twitter I starting following Will Richardson and some other people who were big names in the tech world-Jamie included of course! That helped. I also did some searches on diigo and delicious which led me to other interesting people. I am so impressed with the world of technology and what it can do.

I agree..I have no use for twitter on an everyday basis… I will however follow some of the people that Robin has suggested seems like that would be the best way to use it

I agree with all 3 of you- I prefer plurk because I feel more comfortable with the layout and it feels mre user friendly. Plus I like welcoming strangers are and helpful when getting started. I haven’t used it to build my PLN net because I am still getting comfortable with it but I see the possibilities and amd finally understanding the degree to which it can benefit students. Im lookibng forward to learning more…i just wish i had more time!
