Where are we? Williamson is located approximately 25 miles east of the city of Rochester, NY.
Williamson is an Upstate New York town in the northwest part of Wayne County, New York, U.S. on the south shore of Lake Ontario. The population was 6,777 at the time of the 2000 census. The town is named after Charles Williamson, a land agent of the Pultney Estate. Its ZIP code is 14589, and telephone exchanges 589 and 904 in area code 315.
Williamson Senior High School is part of the public education system in Williamson, New York (Williamson Central School District). It comprises grades 9-12 and its mascot is the Marauder. Its school colors are red and white and the athletic teams go by the name Marauders. It offers Advanced Placement courses in Biology, Calculus, Chemistry, English Literature, European History, and Statistics, as well as a variety of college credit opportunites. The District Superintendent is Maria Ehresman and the high school principal is Douglas Lauf. The enrollment is about 430 students for school year 2006/7 (444 in 2003/4 and 440 in 2005/6).
